Filing Deadline for July 2008 Bar Exam July 2008 Va. Bar Exam Instructions will be posted on this web site after June 1, 2008. All applications for the July 2008 Va. Bar Exam are due in the Office of the Secretary no later than May 12, 2008 (By statute the filing deadline is May 10, 2008. Since this is a Saturday, the deadline for this exam only will be extended to close of business Monday, May 12, 2008). Virginia has statutory bar exam filing deadlines: May 10 when applying for the following July bar exam and December 15 when applying for the following February bar exam. All applications MUST BE RECEIVED in the office of the Secretary on or before such deadlines in full compliance with Section of the Code of Virginia. If the application is not filed as mentioned above, it is returned to the applicant. Because the requirement is statutory, the Board has no late filing procedures and it is without authority to accept a late application. Read and understand the statute and plan accordingly.
